Fairyland

Kathleen Wilke blurs the lines of poetry and fiction through her underwater photography. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Wilke attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati and graduated from The Art Institute of Boston, where she majored in illustration and photography.

Changing water effects illuminate the simplest subjects and transform imagery into beautiful, surreal and ethereal, painterly masterpieces.

Wilke was first place winner in the Unscene Tour, 2008, a photographic competition generated in Los Angeles. It was through this competition that Wilke was introduced to and began her relationship with DECORAZONgallery. Since then, Wilke has also exhibited at Red Dot in London, 2008; Bridge Miami, 2008; Affordable Art Fair, 2009; and Art Santa Fe, 2009. Her images have been chosen for international publicity for all these fairs. Wilke was also chosen as one of the "New Dallas Nine 2009" at the D Magazine Art Slam 2009.

Kathleen Wilke currently resides in Dallas, Texas.
